James Wood Middle School Student Recognized for Reading Success
6th grader recognized for completing Book Adventure’s 3 millionth online quiz
January 23, 2002, Winchester, VA—Book Adventure, the free online reading motivation program, announced that the
site’s 3 millionth online quiz was taken by Danukus M., a sixth grader at James Wood Middle School in
Winchester, Virginia.
In recognition of this great Book Adventure milestone, Mr. Donnelly, Center Director of the Winchester
Sylvan Learning Center will present a special certificate to Danukus and provide all the students in his class
with special gift bags courtesy of the Book Adventure Foundation and Sylvan Learning Center. A recognition
ceremony celebrating the class’ reading success will take place at James Wood Middle School
on January 25, 2001 at 9:30am.
Book Adventure is the first Web-based, nonprofit organization dedicated exclusively to motivating children
to read using a technology platform. Students can access the site and use it to create personalized book
lists, take quizzes on the books they’ve read, and win prizes by completing the quizzes. The site allows
children to have an interactive, fun experience with reading, while allowing parents and teachers to track
their progress.
