What types of personal and non-personal information do we gather online and offline?
We gather personally identifiable information when you register on our Site. How do we use the personal and non-personal information that we gather?
We use the personally identifiable information to personalize your experience on our Site and to allow us to better understand how Book Adventure may serve your needs. We also use the personally identifiable information to respond to consumers’ requests, to provide consumers with special offers, to notify consumers of new product launches, to respond to teachers’ requests for teachers’ kits, and to recommend products that are best suited to a particular child’s educational needs.

What about children’s privacy?
This Site includes “For Children” pages that are designed for access and use by children. The safety and privacy of children is very important to us. Book Adventure has been developed in compliance with both the Children's On-Line Privacy Protection Act of 1998 and the Children's Advisory Review Unit (CARU) of the Better Business Bureau. Book Adventure also adheres to the following policies for child users:
- Book Adventure encourages parents and guardians to spend time online with their children and to participate in the interactive activities offered on the Site.
- When completing a registration form, Book Adventure only asks for students’ first names and first initials of their last names.
- Although child users are allowed to participate in contests, if such a guest wins, notification and prizes requiring supervisor approval are sent to the parents or guardians identified in the initial registration process.
- No information collected from child users is used to market to those child users.
- Guests' e-mail addresses are never posted on the Book Adventure web site.
We do not knowingly collect personally-identifiable information from children under the age of 13 on this Site. We do not sell products for purchase. We do not filter advertisements or other content that children may view through the public portions of our Site. We may in the future offer computerized learning products to be used by children online, some of which may require you to enter additional information such as a child’s age, gender or reading ability so that we can deliver a quality experience. How are e-mail links treated?
We use e-mail links located on various pages of the Site to allow you to contact us directly with any questions or comments you may have. We read every message sent in and try to reply promptly to each one. This information is used to respond directly to your questions or comments.
